The JEE Main 2018 admit card is a significant document for the candidates. It should be safely and securely stored and should be presented to the examiner upon request during the examination. The JEE Main Hall Ticket 2018 will contain the candidate details as follows,

The last date to register for JEE Main 2018 entrance exam is in the 3rd week of January 2018. The JEE Main 2018 admit card shall be released by the second week of March 2018, and the offline exam will tentatively commence by the 8th April 2018. The online exam is expected to be held on the 14th or 15th April 2018. The answer key and OMR sheets will be published by the third week of April 2018 and the results will be declared by the final week of April 2018.

The JEE Main 2018 admit Card will be available in online mode for all the candidates. Hence, they cannot avail it through an offline process. Below are the steps to download the JEE Main 2018 admit card:

  1. The download link for the JEE Main 2018 admission card with Login Form will be revealed shortly in the official JEE Main website https://jeemain.nic.in/.
  2. To download the admit card, candidates will have to enter their application number, date of birth, and security PIN.
  3. Click on Submit.
  4. The JEE Main Hall Ticket 2018 of that particular candidate will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Candidates are hereby advised to check all the details in the admit card to prevent any discrepancy.
  6. Download the admit card and save it to your computer.
  7. Take a print out of the admit card and store it safely for future use.
  8. In case any mistake in details is found in the admit card, candidates should immediately report it to the JEE Main Secretariat.

In case a candidate forgets his/her JEE Main application number or password, then he/she can recover it. The steps to recover ones forgotten application number or password is mentioned below:

  1. Open the JEE Main 2018 admit card Download page at jeemain.nic.in 2018
  2. Click on ‘I can’t access my account’. with Jee Main 2018 Admit Card Login Form
  3. Choose any of the two options – ‘I forgot my password’ or ‘I forgot my application number’.
  4. Click on the Continue button and the following options will be displayed:
  • Using the security question and its answer selected during registration.

  • By using a reset link sent via email to the registered email address.
  1. The candidate will have to select any one of these options and click on Continue.

For JEE Main Paper – I

  • Course: Paper-1 is conducted for admission to E./B.Tech courses.
  • Exam Mode: The exam mode for paper 1 will be offline (PBT) as well as online (CBT). Candidates can opt any one of the modes as per their suitability.
  • Subjects: The paper-1 will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Number of Questions: 30 questions will be asked from each subject with a total of 90 questions comprising of 360 marks.
  • Type of Questions: Only objective type questions will be asked in Paper-1.
  • Language: For all exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi (except exam center cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be English, Hindi, and Gujarati). The choice for question paper should be exercised while filling up the application form.
  • Exam Duration: The time duration will be 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will be provided with +4 marks for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: In case of the wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.

For JEE Main Paper – 2

    • Course: Paper-2 is conducted for admission to Arch/B.Planning courses.
  • Exam Mode: The exam mode for this paper will be offline (PBT)
  • Number of Questions: 30 questions will be asked in Mathematics (Part-1), 50 questions in aptitude test (Part-2) and 2 questions in drawing comprised of total 390 marks.
  • Type of Questions: The Mathematics and Aptitude test section will contain objective type questions. Drawing test will be subjective.
  • Language: For all exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi (except exam center cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be English, Hindi, and Gujarati). JEE Main 2018 application fee

The application fees for JEE Main 2018 depends on the category and gender of the candidate. The below table states the application fees for the examination.

The payment for the application can be done via debit/credit card or e-Challan. If candidates are willing to pay via e-Challan, then they need to make the payment in Syndicate/ICICI/HDFC/Canara Bank in cash.

JEE Main Exam eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main examination are stated below:

  • The candidates born on or after 1st October 1993 are eligible for appearing the JEE Main exam.
  • 5 years relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit for SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. DOB falls on or after 1st October 1988).
  • Date of Birth will be mentioned in the secondary education board certificate.
  • It is mandatory for candidates to pass the 12th examination or qualifying exam with 5 subjects.
  • The qualifying examination must be passed/appearing with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • There are no minimum marks required in the 12th for writing the JEE Main exam, except they need to acquire the pass marks.
  • Candidates who have appeared and passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2017 are also eligible to apply. Also, candidates appearing the final examination of 12th in 2018 can fill up the JEE Main application form.
  • If the candidate appeared in the 12th exam in 2015 but not passed in the same year, instead passed in 2016, then he/she is not eligible to appear.
  • Diploma holders may also apply for JEE Main 2018 but only eligible for admission to IITs. In other words, Diploma holders will be eligible for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not eligible for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.

Each candidate can attempt 3 times to clear the JEE Main examination. The attempts will be counted 2017 onwards. The JEE Advanced can be attempted a maximum of 2 times in consecutive years.

It is probable that CBSE will release the JEE Main 2018 Paper – I and Paper – 2 response sheets and answer key by the third week of April 2018. To know the predicted marks, candidates can recheck their answer sheets. In case any candidate is dissatisfied with the answers, he/she may challenge the answer key by paying Rs. 1000 per question.
